(1) Nothing in this Act shall be deemed to prevent the Government of Nepal from using or developing any water resources.
(2) The government of Nepal may take over and develop the water resources and related land, buildings, equipment and structures for wide public use according to this Act. Explanation: For the purposes of this Act, "broad public use" shall mean a use that benefits the population without significant adverse impact on the population benefiting from the use.
(3) According to sub-section (2), the Government of Nepal shall give compensation to the concerned person for the land, building, equipment or structure related to the use of water resources taken by it.
(4) The amount of compensation given in accordance with sub-section (3) shall be determined on the basis of the current value of land, buildings, equipment and structures taken by the Government of Nepal in accordance with sub-section (2).
